Atlas operates 365 days per year, 24 hours per day, so from day one our drivers are immersed in Atlas Oil’s unique workplace culture to ensure they are set up for success. In our entrepreneurial culture, we work hard, love what we do, focus on customers and have fun in the process! All of our drivers are eligible for our Share POWER Program with quarterly dividend payouts. Here are some reasons why being an Atlas Oil truck driver is different compared to anywhere else:
Pride and Image are some of Atlas’ core values, and providing safe and reliable vehicles is just one thing we understand is important to a driver. We take pride in our fleet and have dedicated mechanics to keep our vehicles safe and running on the road, while also utilizing a process to cycle in new trucks and retire the older ones. This ensures safety and reliability on the road for the high demand of a 24 hour business.
Another perk to being an Atlas driver is that we have a variety of career opportunities that fit your lifestyle. Drivers looking to be home every night can opt for local positions, while those looking for an "on-the-road" lifestyle will thrive in our regional or over the road opportunities. Our knowledgeable recruiters can help you decide which is the best fit for you.
In an industry where spreadsheets have long been the norm and high-tech solutions have been comparatively slow to gain traction, the switch to paper-free digital/mobile technology and logistics platforms has been a long time coming. Atlas has been leading the charge making extraordinary investments in new technologies and capabilities.
A technology platform that allows Atlas customers to place orders through a web-based system that facilitates more timely, efficient, convenient and accountable delivery. Once customer service takes an order, the specifics of that order are sent to a dispatcher and entered into the TelaPoint system. The information can be accessed in the truck itself, where the driver can see exactly where to pick the fuel up, how much to pick up, and where to deliver the order. Once the order is completed and delivered, that information is communicated back into the system, which is connected to Atlas accounting and back-office systems, and customers are provided with a delivery ticket for confirmation. The convenience and efficiency of truck-to-office technology makes receiving, reporting, and delivering orders a streamlined and straightforward process.
A tool that facilitates detailed reporting and for Atlas mobile fleet fueling operations, SMARTLogix relies on dispatcher-driven communications with a handheld scanner device. Orders are pushed to Atlas drivers who use their devices to scan a barcode on each vehicle being fueled. And because everything is barcoded and recorded—including specific fuel amounts and auto shut-off functionality—the data recorded is both comprehensive and precise.
A system used in crude hauling that utilizes dispatcher-delivered information to handheld devices, TouchStar connects to the delivery driver’s handheld via GSM/sim card technology. Pick-up and delivery information and updates are automatically synced to the system anytime a cell signal is available. Critically, in some of the wide open and relatively isolated spaces where much of this work is performed, TouchStar uses a different bandwidth than cellular telephones. Consequently, even in circumstances where cell reception is poor or unavailable, the computer will still work, providing close to real-time updates.
