As a member of the Travel Team at Atlas Oil Company, Tyler Hill is responsible for training Fuel Automation Station operators across the country on how to safely and efficiently operate fueling machinery in some of the country’s largest frac fields. A former Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Hill credits much of his success at Atlas to his military experience and Atlas’ appreciation of the value veterans bring to the workforce.

“I didn’t know anyone walking into Atlas for my interview, but the hiring manager told me from the start how much the company values the experience of veterans,” said Hill. “He went as far as to show me photos of military appreciation events and military appreciation themed trucks. I was offered the job that day.”

Hill says Atlas doesn’t just say they support veterans like other companies claim; they demonstrate support for our country’s military personnel by hiring veterans and fully appreciating the knowledge they hold.

“A top priority when hiring new employees should be the morals, ethics, and attitude they bring to the table,” said Hill. “There’s no better way to find those things than by hiring those who have honorably served our country.”

Atlas Founder and Chairman Sam Simon believes our core values are what set us apart, and veterans are noticing. “Our core values – Collaborative Innovation, Solution Driven, Customer Focus, Passion, Do the Right Thing and Pride & Image – guide all of our decisions,” Mr. Simon commented. “It’s important to me to find the right people who are guided by a strong set of core values, and there is no one more dedicated to living by their values than a veteran of the United States military.”

Mr. Simon also believes in giving back to active duty military personnel, veterans and military families. Each year, The Sam & Nada Simon Foundation supports a military appreciation holiday party at a local military base. Over 2,000 members of each branch and their families are invited to celebrate the holidays with live music, a delicious meal, exciting games and crafts and even visit with Santa. 2018 marked the 11th annual year of the event, and Mr. Simon looks forward to continuing the tradition for years to come.

“The holiday event at the military base is just one small thing we can do to thank military personnel and their family members for the sacrifices they make to protect our freedoms,” said Mr. Simon. “They give so much for us, and we hope the event helps show that we appreciate everything they do for us.”
