TAYLOR, MICH. Nov 9, 2012--Ten days ago, the Atlas team embarked on one the most challenging missions in our company’s history – supporting the Superstorm Sandy relief efforts on the east coast. Fuel continues to be in critically short supply and the Atlas team has stepped up to the challenge of delivering fuel where it is needed most to assist in the restoration of the area’s infrastructure and aid the communities in the clean-up and rebuilding efforts.
As of today, we have deployed a total of 60 fuel trucks and more than 75 drivers and other support personnel to our Atlas base camp and logistics nerve center in Pinebrook, New Jersey. In addition, we are now providing dispatch services for other FEMA contractors at Ft. Dix, New Jersey.
Trucks and fuel are being dispatched to the hardest hit areas of the storm, including New York (Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx areas) and New Jersey. We are proud of our Atlas team for getting engaged and making this happen so quickly. It takes many hands to accomplish a project of this magnitude and we are thankful for our team – from the operational team on the ground to everyone behind the scenes working to make this tremendous effort possible.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and we are ready to provide additional resources as needed to aid the FEMA restoration efforts. Of course, we continue to also stay focused on our current customers and we appreciate their ongoing support.
Please keep the citizens of New York and New Jersey as well as our operational team in your thoughts and prayers!
