Atlas Oil Company’s Supply Division is located in Houston, TX. Houston has long been regarded as the oil capital of the United States and having our Supply Team in this market provides access to the primary decisions makers in the fuel industry.
The Supply Division can develop creative ideas to source fuel in a variety of ways to take advantage of changing market conditions. With a combination of bulk purchases, indexed formulas and rack buying the Supply Team ensures that Atlas has product for its Customers when they need it where they need it.
Our Supply Team Members are trained to answer technical questions on traditional fuels as well as the new slate of bio-fuels including ethanol and bio-diesel.
Atlas Oil Company's headquarters is located at a pipeline terminal in Taylor, Michigan that Atlas sold to Buckeye Partners in 2005. The terminal is fully integrated liquid petroleum products storage and loading terminal with over 12 million gallons of storage for gasoline, ethanol, and Diesel fuel. It is open to receive and deliver product 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Atlas has a strong relationship with Buckeye that allows for storage at any of Buckeye's 50 petroleum products terminals.
The terminal is supplied by 3 common carrier pipelines including Wolverine Pipeline out of Illinois and Indiana, and Buckeye and Sun Pipelines out of Ohio. The loading rack can deliver 87, 89, and 93 octane gasoline, as well as ethanol and ethanol blended gasoline through automated sequential blenders. Ultra low sulfur #2 diesel fuel and dyed ultra low sulfur diesel fuel are also provided at the loading rack for delivery to our customers.
In 2002, Atlas added a 750 kilowatt generator that can power the entire facility. During the August blackout of 2003, it did just that when the terminal provided vital fuel requirements for emergency services, such as hospital generators, police, fire, and other emergency vehicles that had no other available source of fuel. Atlas Terminal was one of only two terminals in the Detroit area with this capability and was written up in several area publications for providing this vital service.
