  • A nine year old Sam Simon arrives in Detroit, Michigan on Sept 27, 1973

  • The Simon family launches Great Lakes Ice Company
1975
  • The Simon family purchases their first gas station
1983
  • Sam Simon investigates Kerosene distribution
1984
  • A 20 year old Sam Simon begins providing Kerosene to 12 gas stations

  • Atlas Oil Company becomes a Marathon distributor
1995
  • Atlas Oil Company purchases a pipeline terminal in Taylor, Michigan and acquires 12 million gallons of storage capacity. Atlas moves its sales and operation offices next door to form its headquarters.

  • Atlas Oil Company purchases B&J Oil Company in Wixom, MI

  • Atlas Oil Company purchases Gallup Silkworth and acquires Wahl Oil, Monroe Oil and a bulk plant facilities in Monroe, Saline, and Jackson, MI
  • Sam Simon and Atlas Oil Company make it on the front cover of Crains Detroit Business

  • Atlas Oil Company purchased B&R Oil Company and becomes one of the largest Phillips 66 brand distributors in America
  • Atlas Oil Company buys its first load of renewable fuels
  • Atlas Oil Company serves customers in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana
  • Atlas Oil Company now serves 234 retail locations
